I had an interesting conversation today about what issues cause the most problems between dogs at the park. The guy I was speaking to said some dogs have “ball issues”. If an individual dog’s owner brings a ball to the park and tosses it there will very likely be a group of dogs that will go for it. If the original owner’s dog doesn’t get the ball and becomes aggressive towards the dog that does retrieve it this is considered extremely bad behavior. The dog may be banned from the park if it can’t share its ball. This had never occurred to me before but it is true that any toy or drinking bowl brought into the park must become public property or the community will break down.
